Mary Frances Walsh ( Francy) is an artist that works from her heart!
Always drawn to the Arts, I began by studying dance from an early age and then musical theater. I studied drama at the American Conservatory Theater and later painting at the Brentwood Art Center. A student of the world, I began expanding my vision and exploring.
Sailing on the yacht Klaraborg was a wild adventure. The 100 ft sailing vessel was a restored Baltic Trader built in Sweden (1860). A couple of Swedes had restored her and were circumnavigating the globe. I signed on as cook to cover my fare in Hawaii. The voyage to American Samoa took 28 long days. A low point was a strong Pacific storm which ripped our sails to shreds.
Next, sailing on a 28ft ketch,( Mei Mary) I was off to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. Then on to Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Each part of the journey changed me. The many peoples and cultures have shaped my life and art. Discovering the vibrant world of pastel painting has been a complete joy. Currently exploring watercolor is fascinating. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy sharing it. Cheers! Francy. My Instagram is francywalsh
